Project Overview
Duck Construction executed a comprehensive dry rot repair project on a balcony post column within a multi-family property, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic consistency throughout the complex.
Key aspects of the repair project included:
Damage Assessment and Preparation: Assessment of dry rot damage necessitated the removal of damaged siding around the post. Framing jack stands were strategically employed to support upper-level balconies during the repair process.
Post Replacement: The rotted post was meticulously removed and replaced with a new, pressure-treated post to enhance durability and longevity. A Tyvek moisture barrier was installed around the post to protect against future moisture damage, ensuring prolonged stability.
Siding and Trim Installation: New siding was installed around the post area, complemented by upgraded polymer corner trim for enhanced durability and visual appeal. All new trim and siding were meticulously painted with a custom-matched paint to seamlessly blend with the remaining columns on the property.
This project exemplifies Duck Construction’s expertise in addressing complex structural issues in multi-family properties while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and aesthetic continuity. By combining precision with quality materials, Duck Construction ensured the balcony post column repair not only restored functionality but also enhanced the overall appearance and resilience of the property.
